Terms of Service

Last updated: 15 May 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of In London Today (the "Service"), available at inlondontoday.com. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

If you have questions about these Terms, contact us at hello@inlondontoday.com.

1. Who can use the Service

You may use the Service if you are at least 13 years old. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you're between 13 and 18, you confirm that you have permission from a parent or guardian to use the Service.

The Service is provided in the United Kingdom. You can use it from elsewhere, but it's designed primarily for people in or visiting London.

2. Accounts

You can use most of the Service without an account. If you choose to create one (by signing in with Google), the following apply:

  • You're responsible for the security of your Google account, which controls access to your In London Today account.
  • You can delete your account at any time via your profile page. We may also delete or suspend your account if you breach these Terms (see Section 7).

3. How you can use the Service

You may use the Service for your personal, non-commercial enjoyment - discovering events, saving them, and receiving recommendations.

You may not:

  • Use the Service to send spam, harass others, or engage in any illegal activity.
  • Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that aren't yours.
  • Scrape, harvest, or systematically extract data from the Service without our written permission. Reasonable personal use (e.g. saving events you're interested in) is fine; automated bulk extraction is not.
  • Use the Service to compete with us by republishing our curation as your own.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by overloading our systems or circumventing rate limits.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service.
  • Impersonate anyone or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organisation.

4. Content

Our content: The Service includes event listings, descriptions, recommendations, and other content (the "Content"). Most Content is curated by us or sourced from public information; some may be provided by event organisers or third parties.

You can use the Content for your personal, non-commercial purposes - browsing, saving, sharing individual events with friends. You can't republish or commercialise the Content without our permission. Event listings themselves are factual and not owned by us, but our specific curation, descriptions, and arrangement are.

Third-party content: Some Content links to or displays information from third parties (venues, ticketing partners, news sources). We don't control that content and aren't responsible for it. Following an external link means you leave our Service and are subject to that destination's terms.

Your content (event submissions): The Service allows you to submit events for consideration. The following terms apply to submissions:

  • All submissions are reviewed by us before publication. We may publish a submission as-is, edit it for clarity, accuracy, length, or style, or decline to publish it. We are under no obligation to publish any submission and may decline submissions for any reason without explanation.
  • By submitting an event, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, store, edit, reproduce, publish, and display the submitted content on the Service and in related communications (including marketing emails). You retain ownership of your submission.
  • You warrant that you have the right to submit the content, that publishing it on the Service will not infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights, and that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
  • You are responsible for the content of your submissions. We are not liable for inaccuracies, omissions, or claims arising from user-submitted content, except where caused by our own editorial changes.
  • We may remove or unpublish any submission at any time, without notice and without giving reasons, including (without limitation) submissions that turn out to be inaccurate, are subject to complaints, or no longer fit the Service.
  • Submissions must comply with all of Section 3 (How you can use the Service). Submissions promoting illegal activity, harassment, hate speech, or content unsuitable for a general audience will be rejected.

5. Recommendations and event accuracy

The Service shows you events happening in London. We make reasonable efforts to keep listings accurate, but:

  • We don't guarantee that events will happen as listed. Times, venues, prices, and availability can change, and events can be cancelled or sold out.
  • We don't guarantee that any specific event will be enjoyable, suitable, or safe for you. Use your judgment.
  • Recommendations are generated automatically based on your activity. They reflect our best attempt at suggesting things you'll enjoy, but they're not personal advice.

Always check the official event page or the venue directly before making plans, especially for paid events.

6. Ticketing and external purchases

When you click a "Buy tickets" or similar link, you're taken to a third-party site (e.g. the event organiser, a ticketing partner, or an affiliate platform). Your purchase is governed by their terms and privacy policy, not ours.

We may receive a commission for purchases made through affiliate links. This doesn't affect what you pay. We try to choose ticketing partners we'd genuinely recommend, but we can't guarantee their performance or service quality. Disputes about tickets, refunds, or event experience must be raised with the seller.

7. Suspension and termination

We can suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms, especially Section 3. Where reasonable, we'll let you know first and give you a chance to fix the issue. For serious breaches (illegal activity, abuse of others, security threats) we may act without notice.

You can stop using the Service at any time. To fully delete your data, use the account deletion flow on your profile page.

If your account is deleted, your data is removed in line with our Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to the Service

We're actively building In London Today. Features may be added, changed, or removed at any time. We'll try to avoid disrupting features people rely on, but we don't guarantee that any particular feature will remain available.

We may also pause or shut down the Service if we can no longer operate it. If that happens with reasonable notice possible, we'll give you a chance to export your data.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in-product. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

If you don't accept the updated Terms, your remedy is to stop using the Service and (if you have one) delete your account.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties — express, implied, or statutory — about the Service. We don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that it will meet your specific expectations.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability or right that can't be limited or excluded under UK law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
  • We aren't liable for events you attend that turn out to be cancelled, disappointing, unsafe, or otherwise different from what was listed. Your relationship is with the event organiser, not us.
  • We aren't liable for losses arising from third-party services (Google, ticketing partners, venues, etc.) — your relationship there is with them.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Service is limited to £100, except where the law prohibits such limitation.

Nothing in this section limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that can't be limited under UK law.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Service. This doesn't apply to claims arising from our own negligence or wrongdoing.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you're a consumer based in the EU or elsewhere, this doesn't affect your right to bring proceedings in your local jurisdiction where mandatory consumer protection laws apply.

We'd much rather sort issues out directly than go to court. If you have a complaint, please email us first.

14. General

  • Entire agreement: these Terms (together with the Privacy Policy) form the full agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
  • Severability: if any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
  • No waiver: if we don't enforce a particular term immediately, that doesn't mean we've waived our right to enforce it later.
  • Assignment: you can't transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights (e.g. if In London Today is sold or restructured).
  • No agency: nothing here creates a partnership, employment, or agency relationship between you and us.
